Working Together

Step One

Initial Video Consultation – 25 minutes, Free

Let’s start with a conversation. This casual 25-minute video call is our chance to get to know each other. We’ll discuss your reasons for seeking therapy and what you hope to achieve. If it feels right for both of us, we’ll schedule three in-depth assessment sessions. If there’s a sense that another therapist might better suit your needs, I will guide you to a trusted colleague.

Step Two

Initial Assessment – Three 50-minute sessions, $180 each

The first three sessions are our opportunity to lay the groundwork. We’ll discuss your history, current situation, and overall well-being to get a clear picture of where you’re at and where you’d like to go. After these sessions, I’ll offer my initial thoughts, and we’ll outline a path forward, with the understanding that our plan may evolve as we progress. By the end of our third session, we will have a clear sense of our compatibility and make a mutual decision about continuing our journey together.

Step Three

Ongoing Weekly Therapy – 50 minutes, $180 per session

Once we decide to work together, our sessions will become a safe haven for self-exploration, deep reflection, and ongoing growth.

In this space, we will slowly thread together the untold story behind your drinking and your life. I will guide you to explore how alcohol serves you and how it harms you. We will steadily gain an understanding of your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors and how they influence the way you engage with alcohol. We will experiment with different new ways to relate to alcohol and search for the one that fits your life and goals.

Together, we’ll slowly dismantle outdated beliefs and coping strategies, working at a pace that feels comfortable to you. As your therapist, I’ll support you in tapping into your own insights, discovering the way toward healing, and, eventually, uncovering a life where you can live fully and authentically.

FAQs

  • At this time, I am not on any insurance panels as I want to practice psychotherapy unencumbered by insurance companies’ administrative burdens. I can provide a “superbill” at the end of each session with all the necessary information for you to seek partial reimbursement by insurance.

  • I am only accepting payment by credit card at this time. I require that a credit card be on file prior to our first appointment.

  • In my experience, we can do the best work together when therapy is a weekly commitment. Therefore, I typically do not provide therapy at a frequency of less than once weekly.

  • Due to the limited hours of my practice, I require that all cancellations and requests to reschedule be made 24 hours in advance. For example, if your appointment is scheduled for Monday at 5pm, I require notice of cancellation by the Sunday at 5pm of the week prior.
